PBS is one of our greatest black documenters in entertainment, and history. They're presenting Motown 25 tonite the last night of black history month. Please support them so they can support you and tell our stories as priorities when youth need options.
PBS survives on donations. The greater the donor base the more outstanding programming they can attain. $12.00 or $24.00 dollars a year is just a few hamburgers.

BHM Nichelle Nichols Uhuru Star Trek
by Patricia Britt
Nichelle Nichols is one of the trailblazers of screen along with Diahann Carroll, Pam Grier, Barbara McNair, Rosalind Cash. Lena Horne, Claudia McNeil, Hattie McDaniels to name a few.
Thandie Newton & Philicia Rashaad were great in Tyler Perry's Good Deeds. Lets hope he has more story telling, uplifting, thought provoking stories supported by the whacky pipeline for our acting treasures to shine in, and shine on in memory.

I found this fitting tribute to Leonard Nimoy in an article by Bryan Bishop about his father introducing him to the Star Trek series, and the lasting impression Leonard Nimoy left on him through the years, as with all of us in the Verge article.

A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP
His final tweet above, he was kind enough to evolve to share himself with his many children across continents, and decades that clamoured for one of his clever words as he lived long, and prospered in the midst of his adoring fans.
Everyone who loved the 1/2 Vulcan could relate to him one on one. So to me it's fitting that he should transcend earth on his journey to the stars in February the month of love, having taught those with and without parents how to be strong and seek the greater good, and be the better soul no matter the adversity encountered, and be up to the task radiated through his acting ability.
The original Star Trek cast did an incredible job of projecting the souls desire to love all and the conflicts of self elevation over the common good on their quest to discover new galaxies. Star Trek will always be the all time best multifaceted look at humanity, and alienicity ever!
The 83 year old conveyed his humanity through acting, directing, and 140 characters that made him a black history legend in my heart for the guidance he poured into his roles.

Post script - Google net neutrality decisions - keeping the status quo is a good thing when you can look at any artist from any era on youtube or research on wikipedia at the same bandwidth speed as pay for play web sites, stay awake and look alive because your vote, and your voice counts if you use it so you can always hear the wisdom of the ages.
If there is no "Net Neutrality" the Internet will become like a stop light with fast green stations, slow yellow stations, and some red stations that are stopped completely depending on major corporations like Comcast. The issue of Net Neutrality has not been resolved it is expected companies like Comcast will sue to implement the stop light stream to generate more revenue. What they do might be up to you if you write our Congress to legislate Internet freedom.

by Patricia Britt
In honor of black history month the American R&B music legends the Spinners are the epitome of love and unity in an increasingly harsh world in every genre, and venue of media, and entertainment towards women, and the bond of love. The Spinners did as much, and are still doing for love as much as any musicians in musical history, adding to the sweetness of black history, and the world's love life. The Spinners began in Detroit, and kept the hits alive particularly through the 70's with one original member Henry Fambrough still touring today.
The groups respect for women was evident with every song, melody, and track with classics like Then Came You (Dionne Warwick featured the Spinners), I'll Be Around, Could It Be I'm Falling In Love, and How Could I Let You Get Away. Even with a lovesick man's ballad It's a Shame, the Spinners love of womankind, and humanity still shines through masks of harsh reality in a world desperately in need of a little more lovin.

2015 Jan : Dr MLKing ~ Youth Mentorship Month
January Is Mentorship Month : Get Involved!
by Patricia Britt
by Patricia Britt
Dr. Martin Luther King
is the ultimate mentor mankind has granted us in working together, because anyone can attain the
knowledge, and wisdom benefit from his endeavor of studying theology, the constitution, and history. We can rapidly learn through the Internet his goals, and beliefs in a beloved community legacy, not excluding books for reference. www.thekingcenter.org
Studious reader Larry
King has taught many ethnicities the heart, and logic of mankind across the
world from his radio show to CNN to his current web cast at Larry King Now as
America’s principal father.
Deepak Chopra raises
consciousness from the micro to the macro in thought, science, and religion
unified through various disciplines in his twitter stream.
Bill Gates transfers
knowledge through his www.gatesfoundation.org,
his Twitter stream Google for Education
to new techniques to make life easier in developing countries in addition to
book suggestions for students, and entrepreneurs i.e. John Brooks “Business
Adventures.”
Google “mentorship
your city” to see what’s happening in your area. i.e. results Mentor Michigan.
We live in an era
where Aristotle quotes, Socrates quotes are readily available in Twitter, while
Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall is all over the web, and any of them
can be our mentor to lead us in logic, or spirit, if we choose their words to
live by, to ponder, to memorize, to expound upon, or to share.
Mentor yourself by
typing a good article, your favorite spirit songs i.e. Maysa, or a speech when
you see one coming on the news. If you type words the concepts will eventually
become second nature.
Every paragraph, page,
and hour you spend typing, or reading words, or creating a sketch is
preparation for tomorrow that can become a part of you today, that can enter your
soul, and perhaps eventually touch the world, your family, and friends.
Learning new things
will help you win your game to be the best you can be.
Google: Dr. King:
quote “subject and verb don’t have to agree” then read the rest of the quote.
Life Statement : Life is a game with rules to live with for civility, increased when luck
pushes you to play to win whether winning happens immediately, or not your
sportsmanship has to remain intact. Sometimes the object of the game isn’t to
always win, sometimes it’s just to stay in the game with your integrity. Sometimes
attitude determines altitude, sometimes it doesn't still it’s your best chance
to try to remain ready when your time for material, or spiritual elevation arrives.
Life can bring joy, or
sadness. Sadness doesn’t always make you stronger, but those who survive, and
sometimes thrive through the slings, and arrows are role models to learn from.
You can have joy in love, achievements, or your heart forever, and a day, or in
cycles. Every game has peaks, and valleys. Are you up to the challenge to
endure as Dr. King did to make things better for African American rights, and
everyone’s soul?

Music : Soul Violins
Miri Ben Ari ~ Chillin in the Key of E
Noel Pointer ~ Drive Time
Itzhak Perlman ~ Beethoven Violin Concerto - Daniel Barenboim
Jean Luc Ponty ~ Mystical Adventures
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_violinThe violin, viola, and cello were first made in the early 16th century, in Italy. The earliest evidence for their existence is in paintings by Gaudenzio Ferrari from the 1530s, though Ferrari's instruments had only three strings. The Academie musicale, a treatise written in 1556 by Philibert Jambe de Fer, gives a clear description of the violin family much as we know it today.
Violins are likely to have been developed from a number of other string instruments of the 15th and 16th centuries, including the vielle, rebec, and lira da braccio. The history of bowed string instruments in Europe goes back to the 9th century with the Byzantine lira (or lūrā, Greek: λύρα).
Since their invention, the violin family have seen a number of changes. The overall pattern for the instrument was set in 17th century luthiers like Stradivarius and Jacob Stainer, with many makers at the time and since following their templates.
