Grammy's Musical Award

by Patricia Britt

LL Cool J did another great job hosting the Grammy's. The men were the one's to watch in fashion Sunday night with tuxes of every style. Kevin Hart, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Miguel, Bruno Mars, Smokey Robinson, Steven Tyler, Robert Lamm, John Legend, Blake Shelton, Neil Portnow, Nile Rodgers, Swizz Beatz, Robin Thicke (Armani) wore it well. Ciara was golden, Alicia Keys in electric blue, and Gloria Estefan (CD : The Standards) turned the beat around in a vivid red gown with sheer sleeves.

The sophisticated highlights of the evening was the band Chicago featuring Robert Lamm, and Robin Thicke with a medley of Chicago tunes beginning with "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is." John Legend's piano performance of "All of Me" was touching, and soulful. Adrianna's voice, Carol King, and Stevie Wonder on piano. Taylor Swift's piano, and vocals were serious, yet wild in a selection "All to Well" from the Red project. The piano keys were tinkling making it a good night for music.

Pharrell swept the Grammy's gaining an award for producer of the year with his songs Get Lucky (Daft Punk), and Blurred Lines. Bruno Mars took home a Grammy for "Locked Out of Heaven." Alicia Keys "Girl on Fire" wins best R&B album.

The affable, lovable talk show host Queen Latifah married 33 couples on the Grammy stage in a memory she'll have forever.

Justin Bieber was uncharacteristically absent, and in serious trouble. There's much more to 2014 than January, so lets pray the young man has many good years to come with his music, acting career, and the road to leadership avenue, if he aspires to be more like Josh Groban than in the direction Eminem.

Love & Sports : Suggestions

by Patricia Britt

The Superbowl, and Valentines are on the way. Ladies let your guys see their sports in peace, and throw in some hot wings. Guys please be thoughtful, and get a bouquet of roses from the supermarket, and for an extra sweet touch get a nice modern vase to go with it. Show you care, and will always be there, or be square...

21st Century Education: Study Teams

21st Century Education: Study Teams for Math & English

K12 education math is an endless piece of life usable from your paycheck to your bills, and saving for travel, music, and sports.

If you share your knowledge about the things that mean the most, for example to get from point A to point B, then you can slide to point C, until point D opens up in any direction you might want to go... Ask your Algebra teacher to translate ...

If you share study time with an old, or new friend you might work it out, whether it's the the math problem, or your life. However, if you share, it's gonna be quicker than struggling on your own when it comes to Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus. Say you miss a day to 3 days, you miss too many initial equations, then the only thing that might help is a Quickstudy.org (Laminate $10.00 College Bookstores), transfer out, and pray at any point in the process if you tough it out, and stay in class.

Teamwork is: To read to each other after English class in addition to in class.

It's always best to work together. Otherwise how are you going to sound words out, so you'll be ready for the acoustics in your classroom to speak, debate, or sing unless you want to get a digital recorder, and do it on your own?

It's up to you how you achieve an A, and continue to improve in class, with help, or without help, it's possible to be great, in an endless process to be better.

School is designed to hide the answers ~ With a Quickstudy you'll have some of the answers to memorize from the get go, you know!

And most definitely pay attention to the teacher, because the teacher will have angles you might not have thought about, even with discipline, extra help always makes a difference.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. ~ An Abbreviation
by Patricia Britt

Martin Luther King, Jr. believed in prayer, love, marriage, laughter, research, unity of spirit, coalitions, and acceptance. Anyone can be inspired to live his dream spirit by studying his example, and the symphony of his writings stemming from the belief equality is every man's right. He admired Plato, and Aristotle... and was one of the greatest writers ever.

Everybody can be great because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love

Poem : " Love's Portrait "

“Love’s Portrait”
By Patricia Britt

What is Love?
Is it the evolution of the spirit?
Is it hot fire in motion that soothes the soul?

Is it falling rain that envelopes the peace in your heart?
Yes it is what it is!

It’s all that and more straight to the true blue resolution of your  core,

Then again it's the bliss of contentment within a canvas of respect.

Love's answer is to search no more,

Yet explore.

The Golden Globes Awards

The Golden Globes Awards
by Patricia Britt

12 Years A Slave won the Best Motion Picture Drama at the Golden Globes. A well deserved honor for English director “Steve” McQueen. He humbly accepted the award for the powerful portrayals he evoked, thanking his wife, and acknowledges the equally humble producer, Brad Pitt (www.makeitrightnola.org). Pitt was probably absent so Mr. McQueen would have his time to shine.

The Golden Globes best motion picture award shows hollywood is moving towards fairness for African American historical epics, and will broaden chances to compete in more genres in the entertainment marketplace in due time.

Fashion Favorites: Lupita Nyong’o‘s (Yale Graduate) red cape, with an elegant caressing bodice was the gown of the night. Paula Patton (Jumping the Broom) made an entrance in Crème like a Hollywood house wife can! Zoe Saldana (Star Trek / Avatar) wore a unique airy whimsical peach, and black sparkler that caught the lights on stage. Taylor Swift looked classic in a red & black dress. Tina Fey’s Burgandy & Amy Polar’s forest green showed off their hourglasses. Sophia Vergara looked regal in simple black elegance, accented with a gorgeous necklace departing from the typical mermaid mesmerizer. Kate Blanchet wore it well with a lacey back plunging silhouette. There was a silver metallic number that was great too. Usher was dapper as always.

The Blah Report: An orange fitted dress might have been better than the blasé’crème black belted selection for Jennifer Lawrence. Julia Roberts dress was to business casual. Kelly Osbourne’s dress was atrocious as usual.

Television : The Bachelor Another Season of Love & Attraction

Television : The Bachelor Another Season of Love & Attraction
by Patricia Britt

Juan Pablo is the newest Bachelor for ABC 2014 premier. He appears to be the perfect caliente' Prince Charming any girl would want to settle down with, and help him raise his daughter. Along the way a select few will get to explore exotic locations for another most likely wild season, with a house full of women competing for attention, and romance that's sure to be a Valentine's surprise for the loyal tv audience taking another vicarious adventure thru March.

Juan Pablo seems like a classy guy choosing a conservative Opera singer for the 1st impression rose. Love is in the air.Who'll get the ultimate rose .... from this stylish guy, and world traveler, time only knows?

Revised March 2014  Juan Pablo chose Nikki over Claire. Claire was livid, and Juan Pablo became one of the least favorite bachelors according to the entertainment news shows, especially after he chose not to declare his love for Nikki. Maybe he, and Nikki are two of a kind, and loved taking a fantastic journey around the world and dating each other for however long it lasts without marriage. The Bachelor - The Bachelorette competition has always been a bit ruthless, and haven't all resulted in marriage.

Perhaps Juan Pablo had some consideration; He might not have been ready to claim Nikki as his hearts dream, even if he sees her as marriage material. Second he might have wanted to ask dad first when they both decide it's time for the next level. Third just because he's the first solo Latin Bachelor in a decade doesn't mean he's going to get married, just because of a tv show, when he's not a 100% sure.

Then again he might be in the Bret Michaels school of thought, only time will tell the story. Juan Pablos good looks could carry him in the public eye for a decade.

Phase II: Roses are a precious, and beautiful flower for any girl to pray for from a golden boy no matter the shade, except when it comes to Wendy Williams. As usual her focus was that Juan Pablo might be the most "hated Bachelor" in history repeating the word on the tv streets, like a Parrot, and adding once again essentially that Juan Pablo's caliente wasn't the average Desi Arnez, Ricardo Montalban, Esai Morales, or William Levy's (Movie: Single Mom's Club, Single Ladies) caliente? You can get a lot of mileage out of entertainment shows with hate these days on just about any channel.

I could be wrong, but there are all kinds of Latins from the East Coast, to the West Coast, to Mexico, to Greece, to South America, to Spain, to Portugal, to Italy, to Puerto Rico, to Brazil and all points in between. www.oprah.com has a few segments about colorism, if you want to get into the unity, or seperation issue depending on your style. Wendy Williams loves to roar, and roll through a show. Whew exhausting!
