Justin Bieber Please

Justin Bieber Please
by Patricia Britt

Justin Bieber please grow up, and consider all the things you're capable of.

Too many, maybe to too many Justin Bieber is a heartthrob to be watched at every moment, and to others he's just a kid, even though he's a young man now.

Justin Bieber has been in the spotlight since he was around 12 years old, and on his first big tour a grown woman claimed she was having his baby. Around a year ago he announced he was taking time off for a year, or so, and regardless of that his fans snap pictures every chance they get if there is a Justin sighting, let alone the paparazzi even though he signed up for his dream to be a star, and made it.

Justin Bieber's mentor is Usher. I believe his faux pas, or insensitive slip of the lip might have been said to shock, or impress someone, or maybe even a test to see if what he said would be leaked. Many people around the world are mixed up about race from mixed images. But should we vilify someone who's just reached twenty for something they said out of momentary ego level at such a young age with so much potential to change. Yes he needs to learn there are certain things you don't say, or do like disrespecting authority figures even, if you're the richest kid in the world who can buy, and sell adults who'll do his bidding.

Haven't we learned about pressuring young entertainers from the facial changes Michael Jackson went through, and other youth who's tragic stories have been well documented. Yes Bieber's had 3 questionable breaks that are pending, but do you really want to see such a young talent strike out. Talent doesn't give anyone a pass to behave ugly. But doesn't youth deserve a chance to evolve, and make a difference.

Usher is brilliant, because he's a music icon. He went through most of his emotional drama in the public eye, and always maintained the greatest grace, and discipline. As Bieber tweeted, if God can forgive he feels secure in that knowledge. He's not Chris Brown who never recovered from his own ego, that he chose not to shut down, and instead struck a girl who dared to question him on a lovely California night, on the way to champagne event. Justin has one of the most intelligent music business mentors in the world with Usher (The Voice ) to lean on, and guide him when he goes astray, if he's willing to listen.

Baby, baby baby ohhhhhhhhhhh ....Goody two shoes take a lot of heat in this post cool era where you could be a Joe Cartwright (Bonanza), and be admired for your principles. Usher had to confess, before he moved mountains to stay on top. Let's not depict Justin as a compassionless moral fool on his way to lock up just yet even though his reputation will remain precarious for a while.

Maybe his song "Boyfriend" means he wants to take time away from the business to have time for a relationship, to have the time to love, to think, to read philosophy, to research I want to say real music besides rap, but then perhaps he was, or is hanging with rappers to discover the error of his ways by learning to trust other men, who are black men his age. Justin's word hurt, and were not ok, and might reflect an effort to be accepted by weak people.

Maybe he should consider taking the Julian Bond civil rights tour, or compose a song for a man who beat the odds of a preset condition.
